Carriage House - Childcare

The Carriage House offers a warm, nurturing environment for children to grow and learn. Each child's self concept is greatly enhanced by the caring teachers' interacting with him or her on an individual basis, identifying his or her unique strengths and abilities.

Based on the theory that children learn through play, our self-directed activities allow children to "discover for themselves" while the staff act as enablers of learning. Activities and daily routines are presented to challenge sensory, motor, perceptual and language skills as well as promoting social and self-help skills throughout the day. Outdoor play is offered twice daily in our spacious playgrounds filled with materials to challenge many motor skills.

The Carriage House - Childcare, has been designed:

For the Child:
  • To feel secure in the safe environment while they play and learn.
  • To feel welcome and loved by other children and adults while practicing communication and social skills.
  • To experience growth and self satisfaction while performing learning activities based on his/her own developmental abilities and interests.
  • To stimulate a foundation of high self esteem, autonomy, and confidence build on the trust developed within the center and at home.
  • To feel acceptance and encouragement in his/her proficiency level of performance of routine tasks.

For the Parent:
  • To feel comfortable leaving their child in a safe, warm, nurturing environment where his/her needs are met on an individual basis.
  • To experience open communication with the center, enhancing the parents feeling of security for their child.
  • We provide opportunities for parent's of the program to get together for informative workshops, parent's nights, and pot luck events for the whole family
  • The parent receives two progress reports a year to discuss your child's experiences and development at school. The educated and experienced teachers at the Carriage House are always available for suggestions, and information regarding your child

Parents are asked to bring a lunch for their child. The school does provide milk to accompany the meal.

The school also provides two snacks a day.

The school is open year-round, observing federal and state holidays, from 7:30am to 6:00pm
